Our Maintenance Steps

Best Practices

Daily

Remove dust and fine debris with a dust mop (aka a dry mop) . For long-lasting results, use a neutral cleaner that is diluted in warm water in conjunction with the dry mop.

Weekly

For lightly soiled surfaces it is considered good practice to wet mop the product once a week. ( with a neutral cleaner diluted in warm water.) For heavily soiled surfaces, use a buffer machine to keep them sparkling!

Rarely - AS Needed

While it is rare, at some point you may need a Terrazzo expert to strip away old sealers/ finish coats and reseal the surface. This ensures the underlayer stays protected in heavy use areas.

Terrazzo Surface Care

Your terrazzo will last the lifetime of the building it is in, so long as you take proper care of the surface. Minimal daily & weekly care is required. Simply use neutral cleaners that are safe for the sealer on your terrazzo. If you are not certain which types of cleaners are safe to use, feel free to reach out to us for guidance. Just keep the surface of your terrazzo free of dust, wipe up any spills right after they occur, and you will be set!

Preventative Care

Do not allow substances to sit for prolonged periods of time on the surface of your terrazzo. This can damage the surface finish and sealer, and cause a need for re-finishing. The best practice is to clean spills up immediately when they occur. In high traffic areas, dust mop daily and damp mop weekly using a neutral cleaner and clean water for rinsing. Be sure to follow the directions for your cleaner closely for proper dilution and remove any residue when finished.
